The Harvest Foundation, located in Martinsville, Va., has released its 2018 annual report, which summarizes financial and grant highlights from fiscal year 2018.
The report highlights grants approved in 2018, Pick Up the Pace! grants awarded in 2018, and news from the Harvest Youth Board.
In 2018, Harvest awarded 12 grants and one community investment opportunity totaling $22.3 million. The foundation paid $6.48 million in grant payments. Preliminary numbers have foundation investment totals at $205.5 million by the end of 2018.
“This past year, our Board of Directors awarded the largest amount of funding approved in one year since the foundation’s inception in 2002,” said Allyson Rothrock, president of The Harvest Foundation. “This is a true testament to the growth our community continues to experience year after year.”
The projects approved ranged from education, workforce training, and credentialing support to health care and community asset building.
The Harvest Foundation has two types of grants. Pick Up the Pace! grants are up to $10,000 for short-term projects or start-up initiatives, and general responsive grants are considered once a year in November. To apply for general responsive grants, a statement of need is due to The Harvest Foundation by June 1. Pick Up the Pace! grants are available for application at any time throughout the year.
Organizations with projects that benefit youth in Martinsville-Henry County may consider applying for a grant through the Harvest Youth Board. Grant awards typically are capped at $5,000 and are available for application throughout the year.
