The Harvest Foundation, located in Martinsville, Va., has released its 2019 annual report, which summarizes financial information and grants awarded from fiscal year 2019.
The report (bit.ly/2019-ARHarvest) highlights grants approved in 2019, Pick Up the Pace! grants awarded in 2019, Harvest initiatives in childcare and housing, and news from the Harvest Youth Board.
In 2019, Harvest awarded eight grants and two program-related investment opportunities totaling $3.88 million. The foundation paid $10.12 million in grant payments. Preliminary numbers have foundation investment totals at $226 million by the end of 2019.
The Harvest Foundation awards two types of grants. Pick Up the Pace! grants are up to $10,000 for short-term projects or start-up initiatives, and general responsive grants are considered once a year in the fall. To apply for general responsive grants, a statement of need is due to The Harvest Foundation by June 1. Pick Up the Pace! grants are available for application at any time throughout the year.
Organizations with projects that benefit youth in Martinsville-Henry County may consider applying for a grant through the Harvest Youth Board. Grant awards typically are capped at $5,000 and are available for application throughout the year.
