Henry County School Nutrition is a Sponsor of the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Groups who are hosting students/children during the summer months for any type of activities, (day camps, Vacation Bible Schools, tutoring, etc.), can receive free meals or snacks to give to the children who come to their site.
To get more information or to set up a site to receive food, call (276) 638-1159 and ask about the Summer Food Service Program. Sites that would like to start serving meals/snacks as soon as school is out in May or by June 10th need to set up their site with us by April 26th, 2019 so they will be approved in time.
We will be able to add sites with later dates of service throughout the summer; we will need at least TWO-WEEKS NOTICE before your site will begin service so that we can be sure to have enough food & supplies on hand.
Meals will be provided to all children age 18 and under, without charge and will be the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
To file a complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (AD-3027), found online at HERE and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed letter to USDA by (1) Mail: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410 or (2) Fax: (202) 690-7442; or (3) Email: program.intake@usda.gov.
