Kate Keller
President
Kate Keller is the President of The Harvest Foundation, located in Martinsville, VA. Kate joined the Foundation in July 2020 after serving as the Vice President for Strategy and Policy for Interact for Health, a regional health-focused foundation serving Greater Cincinnati.
During her more than twenty-year tenure at Interact for Health, she implemented several initiatives totaling over $22 million. She brought school-based health centers to the region, opening 24 SBHCs by 2012. Kate was one of the region’s leading Affordable Care Act and healthcare experts speaking to businesses and community groups about the effects of the law. She developed and lead Interact’s policy efforts, including the Medicaid expansion analysis that assisted advocates in expanding Medicaid in Ohio.
Kate is a member of the 39th class of Leadership Cincinnati. She was named 40 under 40 in 2010 by the Cincinnati Business Courier and received the 2012 National Outstanding Achievement Award from the School-Based Health Alliance. In 2012, Kate was named as a Terrance Keenan Emerging Leader Fellow from Grantmakers in Health.
Additionally, Kate serves on the board of Sovah Health, and previously on the boards of Springer School, Philanthropy Ohio, Tri-State Veteran’s Community Alliance, and School-Based Health Alliance.
Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Cincinnati.

F. DeWitt House, Jr.
Senior Program Officer
DeWitt brings over 30 years of experience to the Foundation in the field of education, having formerly served as teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and most recently as the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for the Henry County Public School system. DeWitt is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and received his master’s degree in education from Radford University in 1989. He enjoys reading, playing golf, and is a passionate and die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. DeWitt resides in Henry County with his son, Evan.

Sheryl Agee
Senior Operating Officer
Sheryl brings 30 years of diverse experience to the foundation working 20 years as a human resource professional in the business sector, before moving to non-profit to work in the early childhood education field. As Senior Operating Officer, she is responsible for strategy development and evaluation for the Foundation, as well as working with the local organizations and partners to identify local needs and opportunities to promote positive change in the community.
She is a life-long resident and advocate for Henry County, and enjoys gardening, cooking, and tackling DIY projects. She and her husband Billy, live in Ridgeway.

India Brown
Program Officer
In her role as a Program Officer at the Harvest Foundation, India leads the Foundation’s initiatives in nonprofit capacity building and community engagement. Additionally, she assumes the role of Senior Advisor for the Harvest Youth Board.
India’s philanthropic journey is enriched by her background in the nonprofit and education sectors, including her prior work at the United Way of Henry County and Martinsville, the Virginia College Advising Corps (formerly UVA College Guide Program), and her contributions to the Henry County Public Schools.
India earned her degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia, which has provided her with a solid foundation for effective communication and collaboration.
Beyond her professional commitments, India actively contributes to her community by serving on the Patrick County Education Foundation and being a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
India calls Henry County home, alongside her husband Matthew and their daughter Grace, where they share their lives with their Wheaten Terrier named Teddy.

Dr. Sandy Strayer
Program Officer
Dr. Strayer comes to Harvest from a 30-plus career in education at Henry County Schools, Virginia. She has nearly two decades of experience working with Harvest as a grantee, engaged in professional development initiatives and other programs to grow K-12 education in our community.
She received her undergraduate degree and doctorate from Radford University and her master’s degree from George Mason University, with other degrees and endorsements from Longwood University and the University of Virginia.
Sandy and her husband, Seth, enjoy spending quality time with family and playing with their dog, Cheese.

Georgia Compton
Senior Finance and Administration Officer
Georgia is responsible for general accounting, financial reporting and analysis, grant financial management, benefits and human resource management.
Georgia brings over 20 years of experience in financial management. A lifelong resident of Martinsville-Henry County, she is a 1984 graduate of Patrick Henry Community College and a 1992 graduate of Averett College, where she graduated cum laude with her B.S. in Accounting.

HEATHER dISHMON
Accounting and Office Associate
Heather is the first face you see as a visitor to The Harvest Foundation. In her role as Accounting and Office Associate, Heather primarily works with the Senior Finance and Administration Officer in performing accounts payable functions and other data entry. She also handles all reception duties, including answering the telephone, greeting visitors, and maintaining the professional atmosphere of the lobby at the Foundation.
Heather brings a range of talents and expertise to Harvest from previous roles in sales for NASCAR, and as an admissions representative for American National University.

Kim Harris
Executive Assistant
Kim’s responsibilities with the Foundation consist of primary administrative support to the President and the Board of Directors to ensure efficient logistical and program support for the operations of the organization. She brings over 34 years of experience in administrative support to this position.
A lifelong resident of Patrick County, Kim is a graduate of Patrick & Henry Community College.

Latala Hodges
Senior Communications and Operating Officer
Latala brings a diverse background in higher education, public information, nonprofit work, and the press to her job as senior communications and operating at the Harvest Foundation. She works directly with grantee organizations and collaborates with many foundation stakeholders, including members of its staff and board of directors. She also plans, prepares, and oversees the production of Harvest’s communications using its website, the news media, social media, and other avenues, and she works with local and regional media to tell Harvest’s story. Latala most recently worked in communications at Patrick & Henry Community College and with its foundation, and she also has been a newspaper reporter and copy editor.

Stacy Peters
Grants Manager
Stacy comes to The Harvest Foundation with experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She serves as the Foundation’s grants manager, managing the grants process and working closely with the program team to direct the grant proposal process and evaluate prospective grantees. Stacy comes to the Foundation from New College Foundation where she served as the coordinator of corporate and community events. She previously worked at Norfolk Southern Corporation as the supervisor of purchasing and maintenance of way. Stacy received her bachelor of business administration degree from Radford University and also completed the Martinsville-Henry County Leadership Development Program through the Chamber of Commerce. She resides in Martinsville with her husband J.D., their son Luke and daughter Lyra.
