Board of Directors

Kelvin is the project manager for the Office of Economic Development and Tourism in Danville, Virginia, previously working in the banking industry for more than 30 years. He served as president of Imperial Savings and Loan Association and as chief operating officer, then as president and chief executive officer of First State Bank in Danville.

In addition, Kelvin’s volunteer service includes serving as past chairman of the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, former trustee for the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, a member of the Patient Advisory Council at Danville Regional Medical Center, and president/board member of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program in Danville.

He lives in Henry County with his wife Pelzetta. They have one son and two grandchildren. He also is the pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Martinsville.

Anne Smith

Vice Chair Finance & Administration Committee, Treasurer

Anne J. Smith serves as the chief administrative officer and president of domestic upholstery at Hooker Furniture in Martinsville. She brings over 30 years of human resources and leadership experience to the Board of Directors. Anne also serves as a board member for the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce and Piedmont Arts, and in previous years, she has served on the boards of United Way of Henry County & Martinsville and Boys & Girls Club of the Blue Ridge.

Anne received her bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin College. She is most interested in being part of real change and improvements in the areas of education, workforce readiness, affordable housing, community involvement, and equity/inclusion throughout her service to the board.

Danny Wulff

Vice Chair Governance & Nominating Committee

Danny Wulff serves as the owner/operator of Chick-fil-A of Martinsville. He moved to Martinsville in 2009 with his wife and said he hopes to bring a different perspective to the Harvest Foundation Board of Directors.

Danny has spoken to numerous professional and school groups in the area about business and leadership, received the Martinsville Police Department Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award in 2013, received the 2012 Small Business of the Year Award in Service by the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, and he also serves on the board of directors for Piedmont Arts.

Danny and his wife have three children and reside in Martinsville.

Travis Hodge

Vice Chair Grants Committee, Secretary

Travis Hodge is the Organizational Development Director for the City of Martinsville. He is deeply committed to advancing the future of Martinsville-Henry County, demonstrated through his active service on the board of the Harvest Foundation.

His professional affiliations include membership in the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA), the Public Sector Human Resources Association (PSHRA), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). In addition to his professional work, he serves as an Executive Board Member of the Martinsville-Henry County United Way, furthering his impact on the local community.

A proud HBCU alumnus of Virginia State University, Travis brings both his academic foundation and extensive professional experience to his role. He resides in Martinsville with his wife and daughter.

John "Jeb" Bassett

Jeb serves as the chief operating officer/senior vice president of Bassett Furniture Industries.

Jeb lives in Henry County with his wife, Diane. He serves as chair of the Board of Trustees for First United Methodist Church and has previously served as chairman for the American Home Furnishings Alliance Board of Directors. For 20 years, he was the fundraising chair of the Martinsville Speedway’s July 4th Celebration Event. In his spare time, he enjoys NCAA Football, boating, fishing, duck hunting, dogs, and weekend travels.

Valenica Eggleston-Clark, MD

Dr. Valenica Eggleston-Clark is a proud Martinsville-Henry County native and works as a family medicine physician at Carilion Clinic in Martinsville. She said she will bring her compassion, work ethic, educational and professional experience to the Harvest Board of Directors.

She completed her undergraduate work at Duke University, graduated from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, and completed her residency at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Dr. Eggleston-Clark participates in many community service projects through her church, Christ’s Temple United Holy Church in Axton, she’s volunteered for Southside Community Action and the Pregnancy Care Center. She lives in Danville with her husband, Mark, and their son, Lyndon.

John Favero, D.O.

Dr. John “Pat” Favero is a doctor and owner of Martinsville Family Medicine. He said he is very pleased to be part of an organization that will have a lasting impact on the community.

He is a member of the Medical Society of Virginia. He received his doctorate from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Lynchburg Family Medicine. He volunteers as an athletic team physician at Magna Vista High School and enjoys fishing, skiing, snowboarding, and sports.

Laura Frazier

Laura is an assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Child Support Enforcement Section. She hopes to use her background in education, public health, and law to add to The Harvest Foundation Board of Directors and use the insight she gained as a guardian ad litem to provide first-hand insights about the homes and lives of local families.

Laura is a member of the Martinsville-Henry County Bar Association and president of the Mt. Olivet Elementary School PTO. She formerly served as a member of the Charity League of Martinsville-Henry County and the Martinsville City Schools Endowment.

Judy Hodge

Judy is retired, having served as an elementary music teacher at Henry County Public Schools for 30 years. She said she would like to help and contribute to the economical, educational and cultural growth of our community by helping to advance the mission of The Harvest Foundation

Judy is the music coordinator at Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church. After retiring from Henry County Public Schools, she served as an elementary music teacher at Rockingham County Public Schools for 10 years. She currently serves as a substitute teacher in Henry County. Judy attended Concord University and the University of Virginia. She is a member and officer in the local Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter and resides in Axton. She has one daughter who lives in Martinsville.

William "Bill" L. Kirby, IV

William L. “Bill” Kirby, IV currently serves as Vice President and Commercial Market Manager for Carter Bank & Trust. Bill is a graduate of Emory & Henry College and Drake University School of Law. He was born and raised in Martinsville and currently serves on the boards of the Smith River Sports Complex, Martinsville Henry County Chamber of Commerce and is the Chair of the SafetyNet board of trustees. Bill resides in Martinsville with his wife, Sharon, and their three children.

John Korff

John served as president and CEO of Virginia Glass and Mirror for 12 years until his retirement in December 2023. Upon retirement, he joined the Virginia Glass & Mirror Board of Directors in January 2024.

Korff lives in Martinsville with his wife, Lynn. He serves as a board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge, as a member of the Kiwanis Club, and previously served on the board of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph’s Church. In their spare time, he and Lynn enjoy traveling to the mountains and the beach, working in the yard, and all types of outdoor activities.

DelShana LeGrant

DelShana has a strong background in early childhood education and special education, and her passion lies in community service and social justice-based initiatives.

She serves as an early childhood exceptional children regional consultant for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and as an early childhood educational consultant for Kaplan Early Learning Company, in addition to owning LeGrant Education Services, LLC. DelShana is a member of the Virginia Department of Health – West Piedmont District Equity Collaborative and serves on the boards of Piedmont Arts and Patrick & Henry Community College. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Council for Exceptional Children, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children — NC Chapter.

Sharon Ortiz-García

Sharon Ortiz-García is the senior epidemiologist at the Martinsville office for the Virginia Department of Health, West Piedmont Health District. She would like to contribute to growing efforts around economic development, health, and education, especially looking at opportunities to serve the Hispanic/Latino community.

Sharon brings her expertise in the areas of public health and disease prevention and control, as well as her knowledge of the Hispanic/Latino population to the board. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and her master’s from the Ponce School of Medicine.

Litz Van Dyke

Litz serves as chief executive officer and director of Carter Bank & Trust. He said being asked to contribute to the very important task of stewardship for these funds is an honor that he does not take lightly.

Litz served as executive vice president of Carter Bank & Trust before taking on his current role of CEO and director. He has more than 25 years of experience as a senior banking executive and strategic advisor. He has served as a director of the Virginia Association of Community Banks, is currently a director of Banker’s Insurance LLC, and he’s served as a board member at various nonprofit organizations over the years including the United Way and Chamber of Commerce. Litz is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney, Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the VBA School of Bank Management. He and his wife Jackie reside in Martinsville. They have four sons.

Rev. Charles Whitfield

Rev. Charles Whitfield is president and owner of Charis Enterprises LLC. Becoming a voice that brings unity and equity to our beloved community is his aspiration.

He is senior pastor at First Baptist Church East Martinsville. He received a master of arts in human services and counseling from Liberty University and his master of divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Rev. Whitfield serves on the board for Chamber Partners for Economic Growth (CPEG). Leads the Minority Business Consortium of Martinsville & Henry County. Serves on the Advisory Council for the Community Recovery Program as well as the MHC Adult Education Advisory Council.
