As I’ve been mentioning the past few months, Harvest is undergoing a strategic planning process. We’re now at the point in our strategic planning process where it’s crucial to get feedback from you: the members of our community.
Here’s what we’ve done so far:
- Engaged the Raleigh-based consulting firm MDC to develop a new strategic plan, targeting the best possible outcomes for Martinsville-Henry County;
- Collected data and held focus groups with community members to identify strategic areas of exploration and focus; and
- Convened workgroups of local people who are passionate about our community to further understand the issues and identify possible solutions to our challenges.
Our current areas of focus include, but are not limited to, pathways for families to increase economic stability, valuing education, building community hope, growing our community, and positive health outcomes, specifically around addiction, mental health, and chronic illness.
Let your voice be heard and get involved in our Strategic Planning Week! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. We’ll be posting five videos in mid-August from each workgroup sharing what we’ve learned, challenges, and ideas on how we can begin to address them.
You tell us: What do you think? From your perspective, what are we doing right? What can we do better? We’ll ask you to answer several questions about the work that’s been done so far, and from where you stand, would it make a difference?
As a thank you for your time and community service, each day any Martinsville/Henry County resident who completes the daily questionnaire will be entered into a drawing for $500! You will need to provide your email address and a local address to be eligible. That’s five chances to win $500!
This is your opportunity to weigh in on what we can accomplish in our community over the next 3-5 years. We all have the capability and the capacity to rise and thrive. Join us and our partners as we build our next chapter together.
*Note: Members of the Harvest Foundation staff, its Board of Directors, and members of strategic planning workgroups are not eligible for cash prizes.*
