MARTINSVILLE-To those wishing to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, the Virginia Museum of Natural History has you covered.
On Saturday, the museum will host its 9th Annual Earth Day Festival at J. Frank Wilson Memorial Park in Martinsville. The event will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free.
Martinsville Parks and Recreation is co-hosting the annual festival, according to VMNH Education Manager Christy Deatherage. The event sponsor is U.S. Cellular, which will provide an Earth Day-themed virtual reality experience.
According to Deatherage, the event will include plenty of community partners who will provide activities for kids, games, crafts, guided trail hikes, live animals, wildlife identification, environmentally-friendly balloon animals, face painting and more. Food will also be available for purchase.
